Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy

Please see a message and attached material from Gill Clements regarding SUDEP:

Dear Clinical colleague,

I am sending the attached information which I hope you will find useful when reviewing your patients with epilepsy.

The reason I am sending the information, in my capacity as a local jobbing GP, is because my 24 year old nephew died from SUDEP three years ago. As anyone who has been through a similar event the impact on our family has been pretty devastating.

Having looked into SUDEP and contacted the charity I realise that there is much we can do to inform patients and their families to help reduce the risk – I thought it would be worth sharing the information – which you may already have of course.

Kind regards

Dr Gill Clements
