The meeting went ahead with small number of members. We had an open discussion about various topics including pensions, locum work in Shropshire, dealing with PCSE and then discussed the future of the group, which still remains uncertain. It may be that there is less need for the group as a lot of sessional GPs have their own support networks now.
Peter Taylor has kindly offered to take over the treasurer role to allow Fintan Last, with a big round of applause and thanks, to retire from the group.
I will continue managing the Locum List and the group as best I can but we still need more committee members to help take the group forward.
I am due to meet with Jon Cramphorn, the ICB Locum Champion to discuss how we can work together to support Shropshire sessional GPs.
We’ll arrange another meeting next month, again an open meeting but with a focus on the future of the group.
