Employee Contribution Tiers

These have been the same for 2015-2016 to 2018-2019. It has just been announced that the tiers thresholds and rates will remain the same for the next two years i.e. until 31 March 2021. This applies to the 1995 and 2008 sections and the 2015 scheme.

Employer Contribution Rate

This rose from 14.38% to 20.68% on 1 April 2019 in respect of all Scheme members. For year 2019-2020 however the employers contribution rate will remain at 14.38% with HM Treasury making up the balance.

This means that for 2019-2020 locums will collect the same employer contribution from practices to forward with their employee contribution as they did last year. Thus the current B forms will remain adequate.
