SaTH GPConnect November 2018 and other SaTH news

Here is the latest edition of GPConnect.

It doesn’t contain any information about the CQC rating of the Trust as ‘inadequate’, with particular concerns around the ED and maternity departments, nor that SaTH has been placed in special measures by NHSI in order to try and address the quality concerns. I mention these here so that you are all aware of the current concerns over SaTH’s performance. However, although issues of leadership and safety were rated inadequate and other measures required improvement, the Trust were graded as ‘good’ for the caring criteria, reflecting the commitment, dedication and sheer hard work of the frontline staff in the hospitals, who deserve our support and encouragement at a very difficult time.

There is good news however, in that the planned overnight closure of A&E in PRH has been cancelled. The newsletter also highlights other areas of good practice in the Trust, so hopefully we have a balanced view.
