News 16 May 2016 – New look newsletter for sessional doctors

There seems to be a plethora of information this month.   It feels very much like either ‘feast of famine’ and two newsletters in a fortnight is the result.  I am away on holiday at the end of the month so your inboxes will get some respite!

Huge thanks to Dr Louise Warburton and the Telford & Wrekin team who gave us so much information on the foot and the upper limb on Wednesday.  The physiotherapists teaching examination skills was particularly useful.  Heidi’s tips on early rotator cuff exercises will be put to good use immediately!  I hope that you enjoyed the small group presentations.  There were some top tips to take away.

The next meeting is back to the usual format and will be Dr Ayub talking about paediatrics.and Simon Hodson is coming to talk on the Soapbox about the LMC and how membership could benefit sessional GPs.  It is possibly a good time to get involved as GP practices in Shropshire representing 150000 patients are interested in getting together to form a “super practice.  In the model they are looking at, all staff would be employed centrally by a single organization whilst the practice retain autonomy.
