Message from Dr Ray McMurray, GP Workforce Lead

 

Dear colleagues

Following our GP Survey in December which many of you completed (see attached analysis of the results), we are very pleased to announce that we have been successful in attracting NB Medical the GP led nationwide provider of ‘Hot Topic’ courses, to organise a local, bespoke course in Shropshire exclusively for Shropshire GPs to help us manage some of the challenges facing General Practice today.

 The course will be free for Shropshire GPs, fully accredited for CPD and NB Medical will provide online access to their resources for 12 months.

 So that we can maximise the number of GPs attending this course and ensure the greatest impact from them, I would welcome your thoughts on the proposed arrangements as follows:

How many workshops will there be?	Three workshops, each lasting two to three hours
What time of day will the workshops be held?	The most popular time from the survey was weekday evenings – probably 6.30pm to 9.00pm   Other options could include Saturday morning 9-12 or Sunday 9-12
How often will the workshops be held	Either: ·       Weekly/fortnightly, or ·       One a month, say April, June and September
When will the workshops be held?	Starting in April (avoiding Easter)
Where will the workshops be held?	Probably in Shrewsbury, but other venues could be considered

 

Can you indicate, via the table below, if you would be interested in attending these events. We will asking NB Medical to carry out all the administrative arrangements, so once we have finalised the above practicalities we will share your details, and those of other interested GPs, with NB Medical and ask them to contact you directly.
