Message from Dr Chris Brown, GP mentoring lead for Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin:
We want to let you know about this new easy access free confidential ‘GP-S’ service to support GPs (including locums and temporary staff) and practice managers. The new service is rapid in response aiming to match up trained mentors within 48 hours of initial contact. The sessions will be via video or phone link and are extremely flexible, they can be in sessions as short 10 minutes up to 2 hours or anything in between, for a maximum of four hours in total. The purpose is to provide listening support and signposting as needed from experienced mentors.
In addition to this new rapid access service we are also still running the mentoring and coaching that is already up and running (though for the moment these sessions also are running virtually) The service for GPs is delivered via the existing trained group of mentors. Practice manager support is via trained mentoring practice managers from the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire area.
