Hold the date for an LMC open meeting on the future of PCNs

Notice of Meeting

Please circulate within your practice.

There will be an LMC Open Meeting on the evening of Wednesday 5th February at SECC to which all GPs and Practice Managers will be invited.

Krishna Kasaraneni, GP and GPC lead on PCNs will be speaking.

This will be an opportunity to find out more about what is expected of PCNs in the next few years and, perhaps just as importantly, hear what your colleagues are feeling, share and feed back experiences and concerns and hear about what is happening in the rest of the Country.

The impression is that the advent of PCNs has not made life any easier and, for many, the expected financial rewards seem unlikely to materialise. The NHS Long Term Plan envisages PCNs delivering improved performance metrics in areas such as avoidable A&E attendances, avoidable emergency admissions, reduction in outpatient attendances and reduction in prescribing costs. Will this be possible? Will practices start to withdraw from PCNs?

Every practice should try to send at least one representative.

I will send out an invite and a request for numbers in January.
